The latest version of RealHomes Theme requires a few additional steps to ensure a smooth and error-free update. Since v3.8.x, we have moved plugin-based functionality to a separate plugin called Easy Real Estate in accordance with Envato’s Theme Requirements. Additionally, Elementor Page Builder integration is now included.

Please follow the steps below carefully.

⚠️ Important: Skipping any of the steps below may result in layout issues, missing features, or broken functionality.

1. Clear Cache (Highly Recommended)

Before starting the update process, temporarily disable any caching plugins (e.g., WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache).
  • Clear your website cache from the caching plugin settings
  • Clear your browser cache or open the site in an incognito/private window
  • If using server/CDN caching (Cloudflare, LiteSpeed, etc.), purge that cache as well

2. Take a Full Backup

Before updating anything, create a complete backup of your website. This ensures you can restore your site if anything goes wrong.

You can update the theme using either of the following guides:

4. Install or Update Required Plugins

After updating the theme, you will see a prompt to install required plugins:

Important: You must install and activate the following plugins:

  • Easy Real Estate
  • Elementor Page Builder
  • RealHomes Elementor Addon
  • RealHomes CRM Plugin

Skipping Easy Real Estate will break core functionality.

If you do not see the plugin installation notice, go to Appearance → Install Plugins manually.

If updating from v3.8.x or later, ensure all plugins are updated from Appearance → Install Plugins.

5. Re-Save Permalinks Settings

Navigate to Dashboard → Settings → Permalinks and click Save.

This step refreshes WordPress URLs and prevents 404 errors on the frontend.

6. Test Your Website

After completing all steps, thoroughly test your website to confirm everything is working as expected.
